Welcome
Hi! Today marks the first day my blog is public and while I’m at it, Happy 4/20! Now, this has taken several trial and errors. I’ve had a blog for about 5 years now (the whole story is in my about me page) but I’ve also tried making a new blog on Squarespace several times. I’d make one, never complete it, then my subscription would run out and I wasn’t committed enough to purchase a subscription during those times. Now I’m a bit older, doing more things, I’m in that twenty-something chapter of life where I’m reaching the end of college and approaching what people call “real life”, whatever that means. I just want a platform where I can talk about things openly, maybe connect with others, and document these times of my life. I have a pretty difficult time finding blogs with people who fall into my age bracket and lifestyle. Most of the blogs I find already have a solid career (typically in blogging) and they have kids and a house and whatever else comes with that. I’m broke, working a minimum wage job, living at home, approaching my last year of college, and have big plans to get out of the Bay Area. What better time than now to start a blog, right?
So as far as my pages go, I have Ocean, Mountains, Life, Little Things, Book Club, and of course my Home and About page. My home page will consist of all my recent posts. It’ll be a big mix of everything, like a normal home page. My ocean page will be about my trips that consist of the ocean. This will be trips close and far. The same goes for my mountains page. Now for my life page, that’ll be for my trips that don’t fall into either category of mountains or ocean. I don’t know, it’ll get interesting I swear. For my little things page, it’ll be all the little things; exactly as it sounds. If I have little recipes to give, that’s where you’ll find them. If I decide to give a DIY, that’s also where you’ll find it. I’m not devoting my time to giving out recipes or DIY’s or my favorite beauty products or anything like that. Maybe I’ll write something here and there about that stuff, but at the moment I don’t want to dedicate individual pages to each one of those topics. Now later on down the road if I decide to become a master chef, sure I’ll have a cooking page, and the same for if I decide to become a beauty guru or whatnot. But for the time being, all those little things will be in Little Things. So you probably noticed I also have a page called FFT aka Food For Thought. Sometimes I have words I want to get out of me. This is the area for my random thoughts, advice, etc. Just maybe things that get you thinking like they got me thinking. For my final page, Book Club, it’s dedicated to the books I’ve read recently that I think others may like. I’ve been reading a lot, I'm on book 27 of this year so far, and I just wanted to spill my thoughts to my fellow book lover community. I won’t do it for every book I read, just ones I think others may be thinking about reading or whatever. I’ve never been good at book reports in middle school or high school, so these reviews won’t be top-notch. Typically they’ll consist of what it says on the back cover and what I thought of the book. Sometimes I’ll make my own summary of the book if I don’t think the back cover is enough. I’ll typically rate it too, but don’t let that stop you from reading the book and going in with high expectations or negative thoughts about the book already. My opinion is my own, and what I may or may not like might not exactly relate to you.
Now that that’s cleared, I hope you find value in my blog and maybe we can figure out our 20’s together. It’s a weird time. We’re not supposed to have it all figured out. Some people may be 10 steps ahead of you, some are far behind. We all have different goals and dreams. Good for you if you’re after a well-paying stable career with a family and a home within the Bay Area early in your 20’s. For now, I want to bounce around before I settle on one place to live and raise a family. I want to wait a little bit longer to get married. I’m not in a rush to get anywhere. I have Trevor and we’re on the same boat when it comes to life plans. Don’t feel forced to follow in the footsteps of others. Do your own thing, find some hobbies, try to enjoy life as much as you can. So thanks for coming! :)
