California Hannah

Hi, I’m Hannah! I’m a 24 year old who lives in the Bay Area of California. I recently graduated from San Jose State University and got a degree in business management. What do I want to do? Everything. I want to have a coffee shop, brewery, surf shop, book store, farm, plant shop, etc. The list is endless. I am easily inspired by the little things in life and I hate feeling like I have to settle on one thing to do for the rest of my life, so I refuse to do so.

Some background: I started my first blog when I was just 18 back in 2015. It was on blogspot (https://californiahannah.blogspot.com) and it was where I first placed my little adventures and words dedicated to my area. I posted a lot, then more like once a year, if that. Every year I set a New Years resolution to get my blog going once again, but then time would slip by me and before I knew it, it was already the next year. Well here I am trying again and on a different platform. I believe the original name of my blog was Hannah Nikole because it was my first and middle name and it was the quickest thing I could come up with. Now back in 2018 I created @californiahannah on instagram. My goal was to just go crazy with whatever pictures I wanted to post without annoying the people I know and talk to on a daily basis. This then transferred over to my blog name because it’s simple. I was born and raised in a wonderful area of California. I live less than an hour from Santa Cruz on a good day, and I live about 3 to 4 hours from the best snowboarding spots around Lake Tahoe. I am from California and will forever be a “California girl” no matter where I travel or move to. I’ve grown a lot since my beginning blogging days, so I felt like it was time for a new spot to place my adventures.

So to begin, I love the ocean and I love the mountains. If you asked me to choose one place to settle down and live for the rest of my life I wouldn’t be able to. Hopefully one day I’ll have a house near the ocean and a cabin in the mountains, but until then I’ll just take roadtrips or plane rides to both.

As for hobbies, I love trying everything. My boyfriend, Trevor, and I love taking day trips to Tahoe to shred some fresh powder. I love filming him while he surfs. This summer I will get on my own surfboard and I’m super stoked. I love taking pictures of everyday life. I prefer 35mm, but I’ll use what I have. I’m crazy about my vintage cameras. I have about 20 vintage cameras of all types, and about 6 vintage video cameras, 5 being Super8 and 1 is just 8mm. Along with my obsession with cameras is my obsession for VW busses. I have so many mini models and am slowly saving up to have my very own that I can travel and life life in. There’s also my obsession with reading. I spend more than half my day reading and it’s just one of my favorite things to do.

Now hopefully I can keep this blog going. I have so many ideas to share and so many trips I’d love for others to experience. Cheers to another blog and just life in general. :)
