Eagle Lake
So back in September of 2018, Trev and I spent a few days exploring Tahoe. It wasn’t to go snowboarding surprisingly. We had gone to meet up with his parents at a condo they rented, and to hike to a little lake hidden in the mountains called Eagle Lake. Yes, this was a long time ago, but this is still one of my favorite hikes that I’ve done in Tahoe. I wrote about it on my old blog but decided to bring it to this blog as well. I can’t remember exactly how many miles it was, I wanna say maybe 3 or 4 miles roundtrip. This lake was extremely cold and I honestly can’t tell you if this lake or the river in Yosemite is colder. They might even be the same, I don’t even know. But we hiked all that way so of course, I decided to dive into it. I mean I slowly inched my way in until the water reached my thighs then I dove in for the rest. It was so clear and refreshing and I'd highly advise everyone to do it. When getting into freezing water, once I get past the pain in my ankles and knees I’m typically good to go. I usually like to test the water with my toes then jump in, but since there were so many rocks and it was very shallow I wasn’t exactly down to jump or run in. It was such a fun hike and such a nice spot to eat some lunch and soak up some sun with a bomb-ass view. The hike is a bit longer, but that’s where we decided to stop and hang before heading back. I honestly just miss Lake Tahoe so much! Also good news: Trev and I are planning a fat road trip to Canada next winter! I’m a summer baby, but I love winter. Actually I pretty much love all seasons.
